MADISON – In a prepared announcement, Democratic candidates for Madison Borough Council, John Hoover of Overlook Drive and Bob Landrigan of Green Village Road, encourage all Madison residents to complete their paper ballots promptly and return them as quickly as possible.
The candidates remind voters that “every registered voter in Madison should have received a paper ballot in the mail by now. Voters who have not already received your ballot should immediately contact the Morris County Clerk at 973-285-6066 or email CountyClerk@co.morris.nj.us. As was the case with the July primary, there will be no voting on machines unless the voter has a qualifying disability. Also, there will be again only be one polling location in the borough on Election day, November 3. And that will be in the Court Room of the Hartley Dodge Memorial. There, voters, who are not disabled, can either drop off their completed paper ballot or they can complete a paper Provisional Ballot.”
“Voters have a number of options for returning their completed ballots now through election day,” stated candidate Landrigan. “They can return the ballot, postage-paid, through the U.S. mail; they can drop it off at the secure drop box located behind the Madison Public Safety Complex at 62 Kings Road; they can drop it off at the Hartley Dodge Memorial polling location on Election Day; or they can drop it off at the Clerk’s office in Morristown. The status of submitted ballots can be tracked by creating a voter account at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/auth/sign-in.
John and I recommend placing completed ballots in the secure drop box, which is devoted to the election and under constant police surveillance,” continued Landrigan.

“Voters that have any questions about how to complete their ballot, deadlines to return their ballot, or the voting process in general can find a lot of useful information, including a video demonstration, at our website: http://www.madisonnjdems.com.”
“Hopefully, voters will consider our experience and records of service to the community and will vote for my running mate Bob Landrigan and me for the Madison Borough Council when they complete their ballots,” stated Councilman John Hoover. “Bob served on Council from 2012 to the end of 2017. After a short hiatus of living in New York, he has returned to Madison, and again serves on Madison’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), the DDC, the Board of Health, and the Ambulance Corps. Many of us can recall Bob’s outstanding leadership as the Director of Madison’s OEM during and after Hurricane Irene, the Halloween Snowstorm and Superstorm Sandy.”

Bob Landrigan had similar good things to say about running mate John Hoover. “John is now completing his first term on Council. During his term, he has supported fiscally responsible municipal budgets with minimal tax increases. He serves as Council liaison to the DDC, a role that engages such partners as the METC, MACA, and the Madison Farmers’ Market. John is a very familiar face around town as he is also liaison to our senior citizen community and serves as Vice President of the Tri-Town 55-Plus Coalition, an organization addressing the housing and transportation needs of our seniors.”
In conclusion, the candidates asked that “voters vote for continued good, responsible government in Madison and vote for Hoover and Landrigan for Madison Borough Council. We also ask that voters consider voting the entire Democratic ticket this year.
Like many observers, we believe that this year’s national election to be the most important in our lifetimes. The current administration in Washington has badly mis-managed the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the unnecessary loss of many American lives and jobs, and bringing great harm to small businesses. This administration has abused our environment, diminished our standing in the world, and made every effort to deny medical coverage to millions of our fellow citizens. Please vote for Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice president, Cory Booker for re-election to the US Senate, Mikie Sherrill for re-election to the US House of Representatives, and Cary Amaro for County Freeholder.”
