LETTER: Hoover deserves second term on Madison Council

EDITOR: His license plate says “Big John,” and I think that about sums up a description of Democratic Councilman John Hoover who is running to be re-elected to the Madison Borough Council.

Standing in front of his big 6-foot-plus frame, you can’t help but notice his big smile and big friendly nature. What you can’t readily see is his big appetite for volunteering in Madison and big heart when it comes to helping others.

John has worked tirelessly on Madison’s Downtown Development Commission and with the Chamber of Commerce to help our downtown businesses thrive. John also serves as the vice president of the Tri-Towns 55+ Coalition that works to help senior citizens in Madison and the Chathams.

Serving with John on a committee that is planning public improvement projects throughout Madison, I can sense his dedication to helping Madison maintain its designation as the “No. 1 town in New Jersey.”

John’s many years of experience in finance has served him well in his first term on the Borough Council and I believe that he will continue to make important contributions to the borough in another term. If you can catch John at the Madison Farmers Market when he is greeting people at the Madison Democratic Committee table, stop by to say “Hi.” I believe that after meeting him you will agree that John, along with his running-mate Bob Landrigan, will make a great team serving on the Borough Council.
