MADISON, NJ – With Election Day approaching on Tuesday, November 3, the Madison Democratic Committee (MDC) is encouraging all Madison voters to make a plan to vote and support Democratic candidates at every level of government, from the U.S. Senate and Congress to the Morris County Commission and Madison Borough Council.
This year’s Democratic slate includes U.S. Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Analilia Mejia, Morris County Commissioner candidate Chris Russo, and Madison Borough Council Members John Forte and Bob Landrigan, who are seeking reelection.
“Every election matters, and every vote counts,” said Alix Jennings, Chair of the Madison Democratic Committee. “The decisions made in Washington, Morris County, and right here in Madison have a direct impact on our lives. This November, voters have an opportunity to elect leaders who will stand up for our communities, protect essential services, and bring responsible, responsive leadership to every level of government.”
At the local level, Forte and Landrigan are running as a team under the campaign theme “Experience That Listens. Leadership That Delivers for Madison.” Together, they bring extensive experience in borough government and a shared commitment to fiscal responsibility, thoughtful decision-making, and preserving the qualities that make Madison a special place to live.
Landrigan is completing his fourth three-year term as a Madison Borough Council Member, while Forte is completing his first full term.
“Madison is strongest when local government listens carefully, respects different viewpoints, and makes decisions with the entire community in mind,” said Landrigan. “John and I believe in working collaboratively, protecting the services residents depend on, and making responsible investments in our borough’s future while being mindful of the financial pressures facing taxpayers.”
“Local elections have a tremendous impact on our everyday lives,” added Forte. “From maintaining infrastructure and public safety to managing borough finances, the decisions made by the Borough Council matter. Bob and I are committed to continuing to serve Madison with experience, transparency, and a willingness to listen to all residents.”
The Madison Democratic Committee is also urging voters to support Chris Russo for Morris County Commissioner. Russo, currently Morristown Council Vice President, is seeking to bring a new perspective and greater accountability to county government, where Republicans have held every seat on the Board of County Commissioners for decades.
“County government makes important decisions about spending, infrastructure, public services, and the taxes residents pay,” said Jennings. “Chris Russo offers voters an opportunity for a fresh perspective and a stronger voice in how county government operates. Competitive elections and greater accountability benefit everyone, regardless of political affiliation.”
At the federal level, Senator Cory Booker is seeking reelection to the U.S. Senate, while Congresswoman Analilia Mejia is running to continue representing New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. Both have emphasized affordability, economic opportunity, and standing up for New Jersey families.
“Whether it’s addressing the cost of living, protecting our communities, or ensuring that government is accountable to the people it serves, the stakes are high,” said Jennings. “We encourage residents to vote the entire ballot, not just the races at the top. Every office matters.”
Make a Plan to Vote
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the voters’ assigned polling locations.
In-person early voting will be available at eight sites in Morris County from Saturday, October 24, through Sunday, November 1, including at the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, 50 Kings Road, in Madison. The polls will be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Saturday and from 10:00 am through 6:00 pm on Sunday.
Voters who have received vote-by-mail ballots are encouraged to complete and return them promptly. “We recommend that Madison voters may use the secure ballot drop box in the Kings Road commuter parking lot behind the Madison Public Safety Building,” stated Jennings.
