MADISON, NJ – In a joint statement, Madison Borough Council Members Bob Landrigan and John Forte urge all Madison Democrats to make a plan to vote in the Tuesday, June 2 Primary Election and to support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.
Bob Landrigan is completing his fourth three-year term on the Madison Borough Council – one as an elected Republican and three as a Democrat. John Forte is completing his first full term on council. The two are running as a team with the campaign slogan: “Experience That Listens. Leadership That Delivers for Madison.”
This year’s primary ballot also includes important races at many key levels of government, from the United States Senate and Congress to the Morris County Commission and Madison Borough Council. The Madison Democratic Committee is encouraging voters to support Cory Booker for U.S. Senate, Analilia Mejia for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, Chris Russo for Morris County Commissioner, and John Forte and Bob Landrigan for re-election to Madison Borough Council. Booker, Mejia, and Russo have also been formally endorsed by the Morris County Democratic Committee.
“Every election matters, and every level of government matters,” said Alix Jennings, Chair of the Madison Democratic Committee. “The decisions made in Washington, in Morris County, and here in Madison all affect the daily lives of our residents. Voting the full ballot is one of the most important ways we can protect our values, strengthen our communities, and ensure responsive leadership at every level.”
Senator Cory Booker, who is running for reelection in 2026, continues to represent New Jersey in the U.S. Senate. In Congress, Analilia Mejia recently won the special election to represent NJ-11 after the seat was vacated by Governor Mikie Sherrill. Mejia has built her campaign around an affordability agenda focused on families, homeowners, small business owners, health care, childcare, and economic fairness. Chris Russo, who currently serves as Morristown Council Vice President, wants to bring responsive, effective leadership to county government.
“Madison is strongest when local government listens carefully, respects different viewpoints, and makes decisions with the entire community in mind,” said Madison Borough Council candidate Bob Landrigan. “John and I share a commitment to experienced, thoughtful, and fiscally responsible leadership that reflects the needs of all residents—not just one perspective or constituency. That means building consensus where we can, practicing civil discourse even when opinions differ, and making careful decisions that preserve Madison’s character, protect essential services, support public safety, maintain infrastructure, and respect the economic pressures facing taxpayers.”
“At a time when many residents are feeling economic pressure, Madison needs leaders who will protect the services and quality of life people value while remaining prudent with taxpayer dollars,” stated Council Member Forte. “Bob and I understand that council decisions are complex and that good local government requires empathy, transparency, and fiscal discipline.”
Voters who have not requested a mail-in ballot may vote in person on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, at their assigned polling location. In-person early voting for the 2026 Primary Election runs from Tuesday, May 26 through Sunday, May 31 at Borough Hall. Vote-by-mail ballots are also available, and applications to vote by mail must be received by Tuesday, May 26.
The Madison Democratic Committee encourages all eligible Democratic voters to confirm their voting plan, return mail-in ballots promptly if applicable, and vote the full ballot.
