
Councilmember Rachel Ehrlich and popular Madison volunteer Tom Haralampoudis together with the Madison Democratic Committee (MDC) invite the public to the Madison Democrats’ Annual Campaign Kick-off Picnic to be held on Sunday, September 18 from 1:00 to 4 PM at the Haralampoudis home at 27 Pomeroy Road.
Ehrlich is running for re-election to the Madison Borough Council and Haralampoudis is running for a first term on the Council. They are running under a campaign slogan of: “Experience. Dedication. Moving Madison forward together.”
The candidates stated, “We look forward to officially kicking-off our 2022 general election campaign at the picnic. We hope that many Madison voters of all parties and those unaffiliated will join us for some friendly conversation and some good food and drink.”
“We have also invited Congressmember Mikie Sherrill and the Democratic candidates for County Commissioner, T.C. McCourt, Judith Hernandez, and Alicia Sharma,” stated MDC Co-chairs, Alix Jennings and Christine Preston. Sherrill is running for re-election to a third term in 2022.
Picnic attendees will have an opportunity to meet with the candidates and learn about their priorities and vision for the future.”

During her first term on Council, Rachel Ehrlich has promoted the transition to renewable energy, created and chaired the Climate Action committee for greenhouse gas reduction and climate resiliency, and advocated for contextual, high-efficiency affordable housing to meet our housing obligations. Prior to serving on the council, she was a member of the Madison Planning Board and served on the board’s Master Plan Subcommittee.
Tom Haralampoudis is a long-time member of Madison Rotary and a member of the Madison Public Library Board of Trustees, the Madison Board of Health, and is a board member for HQM, Inc. He is also president of the Madison Junior School Sports Program, a past chairman of the Madison Environmental Commission, served four years on the Madison Board of Education, and is a co-founder of the Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee.
