TO THE EDITOR: It is hard to believe that after more than two years of great uncertainty and anxiety, our lives are slowly returning to normal.
One of our normal activities is elections. June 7 brings us another primary election and while the candidates are running unopposed for their spots on the ballot, we need to let them know we are paying attention.
So, I am writing to remind you all to vote. Please vote for the candidates endorsed by the Madison Democratic Committee, Rachel Ehrlich and Tom Haralampoudis. If you are an undeclared voter, you can declare on primary day.
As expected, Ms. Ehrlich has turned out to be an extraordinary councilwoman.
While working together on the amendment of our Master Plan, I saw first-hand her dedication and hard work. This year, Ms. Ehrlich has been at the heart of our efforts to develop a blueprint for a Resiliency Master Plan. We are so lucky to have her working for us and cannot afford to lose her.
I have now gotten to know “Mr. H.,” as many call him, as a dedicated volunteer in Madison. I agree with him that “we all should be active contributors to the life of the community.”
Mr. H. is a Trustee of the Madison Public Library Board, serves on the Madison Board of Health as well as the Madison Housing Corporation. Many of our young athletes are grateful for his presidency on the Madison Junior School Sports Program. Mr. H. is also a past chairman of the Madison Environmental Commission, served four years on the Madison Board of Education, and is a co-founder of the Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee.
I urge you to send in your mail-in ballot or come to the polls on June 7. See you there.
