EDITOR: I wholeheartedly support (Democratic candidate) Rachel Ehrlich for election to the Madison Borough Council. I met Rachel three years ago and in that time have come to learn that she is incredibly smart, passionate, and dedicated — all qualities that would serve her well on the Council and help our wonderful town.
I have seen Rachel in many different situations, and in each one she has been thoughtful, kind, and compassionate when speaking with Madison residents. I canvassed with her and watched as she talked with great attention and warmth to those who had concerns about pedestrian safety or taxes or how to improve housing for the disabled in town. Several times she took down a name and email address to follow up with someone, either to provide additional information about their concern or to reach out with a more detailed answer to a specific question.
Rachel’s attention to detail is outstanding. When she takes on a task, she is all in. Rachel does not do anything halfway. She brings so much knowledge as an architect and Madison Planning Board member to the very important issue of affordable housing in town. She is dedicated to maintaining the neighborhood scale and context of our town while fulfilling Madison’s duty to provide equitable housing opportunities. She cares deeply about the environment and would be leading the charge for how Madisonians can make change to help the climate. And she cares deeply about making our streets safer for pedestrians and improving traffic.
Rachel is a respectful listener and she is dedicated to working for the greater good of Madison. I am so excited thinking about the contributions she would make to our Borough Council. Please join me in voting for Rachel Ehrlich and her (Democratic) running mates Mayor Bob Conley and Councilwoman Maureen Byrne on Nov. 5.
