What are the issues being debated in Trenton that will affect you in Madison?  How can you get involved and help drive the conversation? How can you have a voice in local government?

To help answer those questions, the Madison Democratic Committee will hold its fourth annual Madison Meets the Candidates from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Madison Community House at 25 Cook Ave. The forum is open to all members of the community.  

Come learn what is happening in Trenton that affects you in Madison.  Mix and mingle with our elected officials, learn about local grassroots organizations and find how you can get more involved.

“This year’s conference theme is ‘Meet the Candidates’,” says Alix Jennings, Co-Chair of the Madison Democratic Committee. “The Madison Democratic Committee has always worked hard to represent the interests of all members of our wonderful community.  We hope people of all political parties, and those not affiliated with any, will join us to learn about the issues that affect us right here in Madison and meet the people who are debating those issues in Trenton.”

Invited Guest Speakers include Assemblywoman Mila Jasey, Assemblyman John McKeon, Mayor Robert Conley, Madison Council Candidate Maureen Byrne, and Morris County Surrogate Candidate Michael Thompson.  

Assembly members represent us in Trenton and vote on many important issues like the environment, public health issues, budgeting and taxes and much more.

You will have the opportunity to meet and speak individually with our elected officials and candidates for office, ask questions and voice your views on issues that you care about.  You’ll leave better informed, learn about local groups and find out how you can get more involved,” says Christine Preston, Co-Chair of the Madison Democratic Committee.
