Madison Democrats celebrated the results of the June 6 primary at the Morris County Democratic Committee Spring Gala held on Tuesday June 13 at the Knoll West Country Club in Parsippany. Winning Democratic candidates, up and down the ballot, out-polled their Republican counterparts for office by margins of nearly 2 to 1 in Madison. Former governor Richard Codey was the featured speaker at the gala. Codey currently serves as the state senator from the 27th legislative district, which includes Madison, and was an earlier supporter of Ambassador Philip Murphy in his successful quest for the Democratic nomination for Governor of New Jersey. Shown here with Governor Codey are from left to right: Madison Democratic Committee Chairman, John Hoover, Borough Council President Carmela Vitale, Codey, Councilwoman Maureen Byrne, and Mayor Bob Conley. Vitale and Hoover are running as a team for election to the Madison Borough Council in 2017.
