We look forward to your joining us at our Third Annual Leadership Conference, “Voting our Values.” We will embrace democratic values of humanity, equality, community, responsibility and the common good. We will build on our strong Madison tradition of working together to provide a better future for all— a future that challenges assaults on our core values and instead advances economic, social and environmental justice focused agendas.
This year’s conference will feature Congressional candidates who will speak to their values and goals and our state legislators who will address how their legislative efforts reflect our values. Mayor Conley will address local initiatives and how they embody our values. Our Council members will be on hand to engage in one-on-one discussion.
State Senator (and former Governor) Richard Codey, Assemblyman John McKeon, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey and candidates for our 11th Congressional District seat, Mikie Sherrill, Mark Washburne, Tamara Harris and Mitchell Cobert, are our invited guests and expected to attend.
Consider what values you hold dear and how you would like to participate in defining a future based on inclusivity, tolerance, diversity, dignity and respect. There will be various organizations at tables around the room representing groups from which you can learn about opportunities to engage, including Madison MACTA, NJ 11th for Change, Action Together, Friends of Madison Environmental Issues, Wind of the Spirit and the Madison Democratic Committee.
